Super DHA Liquid is formulated with a high concentration of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) relative to eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) specifically to support cognitive health and brain function. DHA and EPA are essential omega-3 fatty acids. DHA is the most abundant omega-3 in the neural and retinal tissues, and plays an important role in nerve function. DHA is especially important from the third trimester of pregnancy until 18 months after birth, when the developing brain undergoes its biggest growth spurt. DHA is transferred from mother to child via the placenta and later, the breast milk.
