One capsule (500 milligrams) for every 50 lb of body weight, given in the evening or when needed. May be sprinkled on or mixed with foods. If your pet is under 50 lb, capsules may be opened and given in divided doses or as directed by your pet’s doctor. Allow sixty days for full benefit. Best if given between meals with a snack low in protein. High-protein meals contain other amino acids that compete with L-Tryptophan. As with any supplement, work up to the proper level gradually. Do not exceed 4 grams per day unless directed by your pet’s doctor. Discontinue use if adverse reaction occurs.
